Lighten Up: Shades of Summer Home Office Edition

Remember that desk I mentioned I was suppose to be shopping for some time ago? I still haven’t purchased one, but fortunately was able to find a simply one I like a few weeks ago when I went into West Elm, one of the stores where I go to find the latest, most unique reasonably priced items for my home. As soon as I walked through the doors, that giddy feeling I get on the inside whenever I see something I can’t live without possessed my soul, I knew it was going to be my lucky day. In fact, Jay told me the staff worked well into the wee hours of the morning on the new floor sets to showcase the new merchandise.

I fell in love with everything I laid my eyes upon. Before I found what I was looking for, I spotted the perfect table for my mother’s newly remodeled home. She had been looking for the perfect bistro table for awhile and was delighted that I had found one for her.  I was, and still am, so inspired by the different shades of blue the store is offering for the summer, in particular, the color they call blue moon. The color invokes feelings of utter calm and unruffled repose. I think the desk and matching chair will be perfect in a room with accents of the same color, especially a bedroom, the place where most go to rest and seek refuge from a stressful day. I suspect various shades of blue as well as green will gain popularity as the season progresses.

In the retail world, summer is quickly coming to an end, which means nothing more than tons of discounts for people like you and me. The desk was on backorder until today, which works out well because now it’s on sale.

It’s a great time for you to stock up on colors that bring you a sense of peace and quiet, colors that will help you lighten up a bit and brighten up your home.
